Description

Ornellaia 2015 is a celebrated Bolgheri red, bringing together the warmth of the Tuscan coast and the structure of Bordeaux-inspired grape varieties. A benchmark wine for the region, it offers depth and polish while remaining balanced and elegant.

Tasting Notes
Deep in colour, the 2015 opens with aromas of dark berries and blackcurrant, followed by plum, cedar, tobacco, cocoa and spice. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe fruit, a refined, polished texture and a long, balanced finish. Its structure and concentration give it the capacity to develop further in bottle, while it is already showing appealing maturity.

Production
Made in Bolgheri, where Mediterranean warmth and coastal influences shape the character of the wines, Ornellaia draws on Bordeaux-inspired varieties. Detailed information about the 2015 harvest and vinification is not available here.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. Decant for about an hour to let the wine open up, particularly if enjoying it now. Its ripe dark fruit and structured palate pair well with grilled or roasted red meat, slow-cooked lamb and aged hard cheeses.
