Description
Max Ferd. Richter’s 2011 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is a rare and intensely concentrated Mosel sweet wine, presented in an elegant 375 ml bottle. Made from hand-selected grapes grown on the steep slopes of the renowned Graacher Domprobst vineyard, it combines luscious fruit, vibrant acidity and the mineral character for which the Mosel is celebrated. A fine example of Germany’s noble-sweet Riesling tradition, it is equally suited to special occasions, gifting or long-term cellaring.
Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep golden colour, reflecting its richness and maturity. Its expressive bouquet offers layers of ripe peach, apricot, honey and candied fruit, with an underlying mineral nuance. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly sweet, yet beautifully balanced by refreshing Riesling acidity. The finish is long, persistent and gently mineral, leaving an impression of ripe stone fruit and honey.
With its concentration, acidity and noble-sweet style, this 2011 Trockenbeerenauslese has excellent ageing potential. Properly stored, it can continue to develop greater complexity and tertiary notes over many years.
Production
Sourced from the steep, slate-influenced slopes of Graacher Domprobst in the Mosel, the grapes benefit from a cool climate and long ripening season that preserve Riesling’s natural acidity. Trockenbeerenauslese wines are made from exceptionally ripe, naturally shrivelled grapes, traditionally selected berry by berry and often influenced by noble rot, which concentrates their sugars and aromas. The resulting wine balances intense sweetness with the freshness and mineral precision characteristic of the Mosel.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at 8–10°C. This sumptuous Riesling is excellent as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with crème brûlée, cheesecake, fresh fruit and fruit-based desserts. Its acidity and concentration also make it a delightful match for blue cheese or foie gras. Decanting is generally not necessary, although a brief opening before serving can allow its aromas to unfold; serve in small white-wine or dessert-wine glasses.

Max Ferd. Richter is a respected family winery in the Mosel, a region with a long-standing reputation for producing elegant and age-worthy Riesling.
