Presented in a gift box, Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé 2009 is a rare, prestigious Champagne made only in exceptional vintages. Created as the rosé expression of the house’s iconic Cristal cuvée, it combines the depth of Pinot Noir with the freshness and precision of Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes
Pale rosé in colour, with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose reveals strawberry and raspberry alongside delicate floral notes, spice and hints of toast. On the palate, ripe red-fruit character meets Chardonnay’s lively freshness, supported by mineral detail and a poised, structured texture. The finish is long and silky, with nuances of wild berries and brioche.

Production
The blend is 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. The Pinot Noir comes largely from the Montagne de Reims, while the Chardonnay is from the Côte des Blancs; a portion of the Pinot Noir is vinified as red wine to give the Champagne its colour and added depth. Following careful vinification, the wine spends six years on its lees in Roederer’s cellars, then a further eight months in bottle after disgorgement. Its structure and balance give it considerable potential to develop further with age.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 10–12°C, in a tulip-shaped Champagne glass. Its red-fruit character and depth pair beautifully with lobster, langoustine, delicate game birds or salmon, and it can also be enjoyed on its own for a special occasion. Decanting is generally unnecessary; allow the wine a few minutes in the glass to open.
