Tasting Notes

The palate is generous yet poised, with a creamy texture, fine persistent bubbles and a harmony of ripe fruit and lively acidity. Its long, refined finish brings subtle spice and mineral precision. Cristal Rosé 2006 has considerable potential to develop further in bottle, gaining complexity over time when stored in suitable conditions.

Production
The grapes come from carefully selected Grand Cru vineyards in Champagne, where Louis Roederer farms according to biodynamic principles. The Pinot Noir-led blend is complemented by a smaller proportion of Chardonnay, and a delicate maceration gives the wine its rosé colour while preserving the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the Champagne. The vintage was marked by warm, sunny conditions that encouraged ripe grapes and a rich, balanced style.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled, around 8–10°C, with lobster, caviar or refined poultry. For a special meal, it also suits delicate seafood dishes. Decanting is not essential; if you wish to open up the wine, a brief, gentle decant just before serving can help reveal its aromas without sacrificing its sparkle.
