Louis Roederer Cristal 2012 i Giftbox

Presented in a gift box, Louis Roederer Cristal 2012 is a celebrated vintage Champagne made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown on the house’s finest sites. First created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II, Cristal remains one of Champagne’s most distinctive prestige cuvées.

Tasting Notes
A radiant golden hue with amber reflections is complemented by fine, persistent bubbles. The expressive yet subtle bouquet brings together preserved citrus, apricot and honeysuckle.

Production
The palate balances freshness and rounded richness, with notes of vanilla and mint that develop in the glass towards liquorice and toasted hazelnut. Its poised, harmonious finish brings together lightness, depth and complexity. The 2012 vintage has the structure to mature gracefully in a well-kept cellar.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 10–12°C. It pairs beautifully with langoustine, lobster, turbot or other refined seafood, and can also accompany roast poultry. For a young bottle, open it shortly before serving; a brief, gentle decant in a cool carafe can help it unfold, though careful pouring straight from the bottle is also an excellent option.

Producer
The 2012 harvest followed a cold winter and a notably sunny growing season, producing healthy, ripe fruit. Cristal is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced from 8–10 of Louis Roederer’s top cru vineyards, cultivated biodynamically and Demeter-certified. Around 15% of the wine was fermented in oak, with no malolactic fermentation; it then spent six years in bottle on the lees, followed by eight months of post-disgorgement ageing before release. The dosage is 7.5 g/L.
