In the glass, the 2018 vintage typically shows a deep garnet to purple hue, hinting at its concentration and youth. The nose is layered and refined, with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, and subtle floral and spice notes gradually unfolding with air. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, firm and tightly structured, with polished tannins and vibrant acidity giving shape to the fruit. Dark berry flavours, cassis, pencil shavings, and savory earthy nuances lead to a long, elegant finish. Léoville Barton comes from gravelly soils in Saint-Julien, an area prized for drainage and for producing Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional balance and finesse. Vinification is focused on extracting depth and complexity while maintaining the elegant, classic profile that defines the property.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with prime rib, lamb rack, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or classic dishes such as grilled entrecôte and mushroom-based sauces. It also works well with mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open and soften.
