Leonardo da Vinci Capolavori Brunello di Montalcino San Giovanni Battista is a refined expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most celebrated appellations. A tribute to Leonardo’s genius, it combines the depth and structure expected from Brunello with a polished, fruit-driven style that makes it immediately appealing.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red hue with garnet reflections, hinting at its classic Brunello character. The nose is intense and inviting, with ripe aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and cherry leading the way. On the palate, this is a full-bodied and generous wine, with soft, fruit-forward impressions that echo the aromas beautifully. Balanced by a pleasant freshness, it has the structure and harmony to develop further with time in bottle, rewarding patient cellaring.

Production
Produced in Montalcino, Tuscany, this Brunello comes from Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected. Fermentation takes place on the skins, with a 20–25 day maceration at controlled temperatures of up to 24°C, helping to extract colour, aroma, and finesse. The wine is then aged for at least 30 months in 50-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle ageing.

Food & Serving
This Brunello pairs wonderfully with roasted red meats, game, rich pasta dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour before serving to allow its aromas and structure to fully open.
