Tasting Notes
Deep, dark ruby in the glass, this Amarone opens with a complex and inviting nose of leather, resin, prunes, raisins, and a subtle touch of tobacco and liquorice. The bouquet is rich and layered, reflecting both ripe fruit and the character that comes from the appassimento drying process. On the palate, it is elegant and silky, with concentrated black cherry coulis, dried blueberry, and finely integrated tannins. Hints of dried rosemary and sage add freshness and complexity to the long, persistent finish. With its structure and balance, it has excellent aging potential and should continue to develop beautifully over time.

Produced by Le Salette in the Classico zone of Valpolicella, this wine comes from the hills of Fumane, where the vineyards benefit from a favorable hillside terroir and excellent air circulation for drying the grapes. The fruit is carefully harvested and then dried to concentrate flavor and enhance the elegance of the final wine, before vinification that preserves the intensity and finesse of the dried-fruit character.

This Amarone pairs beautifully with braised meats, game, rich stews, aged cheeses, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours to allow the aromas and texture to fully open.
