Le Difese 2024 is Tenuta San Guido’s most approachable wine, offering the estate’s signature style in a fresh, fruit-driven Super Tuscan. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese combines international structure with distinctly Tuscan vibrancy, making it an excellent choice for relaxed everyday drinking. It is the accessible member of the estate’s celebrated trio alongside Sassicaia and Guidalberto.

Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in the glass, with a youthful ruby-red colour. The nose opens with aromas of fresh dark berries, ripe cherries and plum, followed by subtle notes of vanilla and sweet spice from the oak. On the palate, it is juicy and generously fruity, with a medium-full body, soft mature tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish is lively, balanced and pleasantly smooth. Designed for early enjoyment, Le Difese 2024 can be opened now, although it should develop additional softness and integration over the next few years if stored well.

Production
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Tuscany and combine 70% Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Sangiovese. After harvesting, the fruit is fermented on its skins in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve freshness and varietal character. The wine is then matured for approximately eight months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, adding gentle spice and roundness while allowing the fruit to remain at the centre.

Food & Serving
A versatile red for grilled beef, steak, burgers and other flavourful, informal meat dishes. Its fresh acidity also makes it a natural partner for pasta with tomato sauce, marinara, ragù or Bolognese, as well as pizza and mildly mature cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential, but a short 20–30 minute airing can help open the wine when serving it with a meal.
