Why shop with us?
Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is a beautifully precise Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay, showcasing the purity and finesse that have made the house a benchmark for grower Champagne. Sourced from carefully selected parcels across the Côte des Blancs and surrounding areas, it offers a refined, terroir-driven style with impressive balance and depth. The Latitude cuvée reflects a long tradition of artisanal Champagne making, with a focus on authenticity, low dosage, and elegant expression.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse, this Champagne opens with fresh aromas of white flowers, lemon peel, green apple, and subtle brioche. With air, it develops notes of ripe pear, hazelnut, crushed chalk, and delicate saline nuances. On the palate it is crisp, energetic, and very precise, combining bright citrus fruit with a creamy texture and a long, mineral finish.
The Extra Brut style keeps the profile clean and focused, allowing the Chardonnay to shine with clarity and tension. It has excellent aging potential, and while already expressive, it can evolve gracefully over several years, gaining additional complexity and depth.
Production
Latitude Blanc de Blancs is crafted from Chardonnay grown in chalk-rich Champagne soils, where excellent drainage and cool conditions help preserve freshness and aromatic finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with an emphasis on natural balance and minimal intervention. Larmandier-Bernier is known for biodynamic farming and low-dosage production, and this cuvée is made to express vineyard character rather than overt cellar influence.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is an excellent partner for oysters, scallops, shellfish, sushi, sashimi, and delicate white fish, but it also works beautifully with soft cheeses and light poultry dishes. Serve chilled at around 8-10°C to highlight its precision and freshness. Decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass can help the aromas open fully.
Producer
Larmandier-Bernier is a family-run Champagne house based in Vertus, with roots in the region dating back generations. Today it is widely respected as one of Champagne’s leading grower-producers, particularly for its biodynamic approach and terroir-focused wines from the Côte des Blancs. The house has earned an outstanding reputation for purity, elegance, and consistency, making its wines highly sought after by Champagne enthusiasts.
