Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden in the glass, it carries a fine, persistent mousse. The complex nose offers ripe fruit and citrus, layered with honey, almonds and a hint of spice. On the palate, richness and fruit are balanced by freshness and subtle minerality, leading to a long, poised finish. Already elegant, Krug 2002 has the structure to develop further in the cellar. Its extended maturation before release has helped bring depth and harmony to the wine.

Production
Krug Vintage is assembled from the most expressive wines of a single harvest, with the proportions of the classic Champagne grapes adjusted to reflect each year. The 2002 blend comprises 40% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 21% Meunier, followed by more than ten years of maturation in Krug’s cellars. Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 9–12°C, with seared scallops, lobster, roast poultry or mature hard cheeses; its richness also suits dishes with toasted nuts or gentle spice.
