Description

Krug 2000 is a powerful, finely balanced vintage Champagne, presented in a giftbox and shaped by the challenging conditions of the 2000 growing season. Its blend of 42% Pinot Noir, 43% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier brings together structure, freshness and depth in a wine with both immediate elegance and the potential to develop further.

Tasting Notes
Golden in colour, with fine, persistent bubbles, it opens with an intense, layered aroma of caramelised fruit, citrus, toasted bread and a subtle hint of spice. The palate is full and nuanced, combining ripe fruit with lively acidity and a delicate mineral note. A long, lingering finish balances freshness with depth. It is already showing considerable elegance, yet should continue to evolve with further cellaring.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, at around 8–10°C. Its richness and freshness pair beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, scallops or aged hard cheeses. Decanting is not essential; if serving now, allow the Champagne a little time in the glass to reveal its complexity.
