Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright golden-yellow appearance, reflecting both its maturity and its depth. On the nose, ripe apple, citrus fruit and subtle honeyed notes are complemented by a pronounced mineral character. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with refreshing acidity, concentrated fruit and a long, stony finish. The 2013 vintage is now entering a rewarding stage of maturity, with developed fruit and gentle tertiary nuances adding complexity. It can be enjoyed now, but its structure and acidity should allow further development in a well-stored bottle.

Production
The grapes come from the renowned Morstein vineyard near Westhofen in Rheinhessen, a limestone-rich site known for producing Rieslings of power, finesse and impressive longevity. As a VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS, the wine is made from the estate’s best parcels under strict quality standards. The fruit is carefully selected before fermentation, allowing the wine to express the site’s ripe fruit character, vibrant acidity and distinctive mineral profile.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled at around 10–12°C. This Riesling pairs particularly well with grilled or roasted fish, shellfish, poultry and light cream-based dishes, while its mineral freshness also complements mild, soft or semi-hard cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but 20–30 minutes of air in a carafe can help reveal the wine’s layered aromas and mature character.
