Klaus Peter Keller’s 2005 Hubacker Riesling GG is a mature Grosses Gewächs from one of Rheinhessen’s most admired producers and vineyard sites. Combining ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and distinctive mineral depth, it captures the remarkable ageing potential of dry German Riesling and offers a refined expression of the Hubacker vineyard.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a luminous golden hue with youthful greenish reflections. Its aromatic profile is layered and expressive, revealing ripe peach, citrus fruit, honey and finely mineral notes, with bottle age adding further complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet precise, balancing generous fruit with refreshing acidity and a long, persistent finish marked by remarkable freshness. Now mature and drinking beautifully, it should continue to develop over the coming years when carefully stored.

Production
Made from hand-harvested Riesling grapes grown in the Hubacker vineyard in Rheinhessen, the wine reflects the site’s ability to produce concentrated yet finely structured dry whites. The fruit was carefully selected before vinification and matured for several years in oak casks, allowing the wine to build texture, aromatic complexity and depth while retaining its characteristic freshness and mineral precision.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at 10–12°C. This mature Riesling is an excellent match for delicate fish, shellfish, lobster, roast poultry and other light meats, while its acidity and complexity also complement aromatic or spicy cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a brief decant or serving from a larger glass can help the wine open and reveal its full range of mature aromas.
