Tasting Notes

With its depth and structure, the 2017 Hipping Riesling GG has excellent ageing potential. Production
The Hipping vineyard is located near Nierstein in Rheinhessen, on steep, sun-exposed slopes known for their distinctive red, mineral-rich soils. Grapes for this Grosses Gewächs are selected from the site’s finest fruit and crafted to express both the character of the vineyard and the precision of Riesling. The wine’s balance of concentration, freshness and mineral length reflects the quality of the terroir and the careful, low-intervention approach associated with Klaus Peter Keller.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C to allow the wine’s aromas and texture to unfold. It is an excellent match for delicate fish dishes, shellfish, roast or poached poultry and lightly flavoured soft cheeses. Decanting is not essential, but a short decant of 20–30 minutes can help the wine open up, particularly when enjoyed in its youth.
