Klaus Peter Keller’s 2016 Hipping Riesling GG is a distinguished Grosses Gewächs from one of Rheinhessen’s celebrated vineyard sites. Produced from hand-harvested Riesling grown on the steep Hipping slopes, it combines crystalline freshness with depth, complexity and impressive ageing potential. As a Grosses Gewächs, it represents the highest classification of dry German estate wines and offers a refined expression of its origin.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright golden colour with delicate greenish highlights. Its expressive bouquet brings together citrus fruits, ripe peach and apricot, complemented by finely mineral notes that reflect the character of the steep vineyard site. On the palate, the 2016 Hipping Riesling GG is full-bodied and layered, with vibrant acidity providing energy and balance. Fruit richness is framed by a precise mineral character, leading to a long, elegant finish. Already rewarding, it has the structure to develop further complexity over many years in bottle.

Production
The Riesling grapes are sourced from the steep Hipping vineyard in Rheinhessen and are harvested by hand to ensure that only healthy, fully ripe fruit is selected. Following gentle pressing, the must is fermented in stainless-steel tanks, helping to preserve the wine’s freshness, vibrant fruit character and mineral precision.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C. Its combination of richness and lively acidity makes it an excellent match for refined fish dishes, shellfish, poultry and other light meats, while its aromatic profile also works beautifully with delicately spiced Asian cuisine. The wine can be enjoyed on its own, and a short period of aeration in the glass—or a careful decant shortly before serving—can help reveal its full complexity.
