Joseph Roty’s 2020 Marsannay Rouge is a Pinot Noir from the northern Côte de Nuits, offering ripe red fruit alongside darker notes of coffee, chocolate and earth. Marsannay is distinctive among Burgundy’s village appellations for producing red, white and rosé wines.

Tasting Notes
The nose brings ripe cherry and raspberry, with liquorice, coffee, chocolate and earthy notes adding depth. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and full-bodied, with pronounced tannins balanced by fresh acidity and a long finish. Its structure suggests it can be enjoyed now or kept for further development, though exact cellaring potential will depend on storage conditions. Burghound scored the vintage 88–90 points.

Food & Serving
Try it with roast duck, grilled pork, mushroom dishes or roast chicken, whose savoury flavours complement the wine’s fruit and earthy character. Serve slightly cool, around 15–16°C. A brief decant can help open the wine and soften its tannins.
