Description

Johannes Zillinger’s REVOLUTION White Solera is a non-vintage Austrian white blend built around a consistent house style rather than the character of a single grape or harvest. Its solera-inspired approach brings together Chardonnay, Scheurebe and Riesling from different years, with the 2020 bottling comprising 50% Chardonnay, 25% Scheurebe and 25% Riesling.

Production
The grapes come from 25–40-year-old vines rooted in loess and calcareous sandstone in the Weinviertel. The blend draws on wines from different vintages and élevage methods: the 2019 Chardonnay underwent seven days of skin maceration in amphorae before ageing in 1,000-litre casks; Scheurebe from 2016–2018 fermented on the berries and matured in 600-litre casks; and the Riesling component spans vintages from 2013 to 2018. Harvesting details are not provided.
