Description

From the Erste Lage vineyard of Schlossberg in Burg Layen, this Riesling showcases the Nahe’s distinctive slate-influenced character. The 2016 vintage has gained bottle age, bringing added aromatic complexity while retaining the vineyard’s bright fruit and mineral signature.

Tasting Notes
The nose combines developing petroleum notes with subtle florals, hints of peach and darker berry tones. On the palate, generous texture is balanced by harmonious acidity, with green citrus, a touch of black tea and a long, lingering finish.

Production
Schlossberg’s clay soils contain weathered slate in red, silver and blue tones. Their ability to retain water supports the Riesling vines and helps shape the wine’s pronounced fruit and fine minerality. The 2016 has spent time maturing in bottle; further details on harvesting and vinification are not available.

Food & Serving
