Description

Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin’s 2024 Montée de Tonnerre is a Chablis Premier Cru Chardonnay, prized for its combination of mineral precision, generous texture and lingering, saline freshness. Its white-fruit and floral character is complemented by subtle hints of anise, menthol and brioche.

Tasting Notes
Pale in appearance, with aromas of white fruit and flowers accented by delicate notes of anise, menthol and brioche. The palate balances a rounded, full feel with lively energy, finishing with persistent mineral and salt-tinged freshness. Enjoyable young for its brightness, it should gain further depth with bottle age; the producer specifically recommends allowing it to develop in the cellar.

Production
The wine is fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and matured partly in stainless-steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. Further details on vineyard soils, harvesting methods and the proportions of tank and barrel maturation are not provided.

Food & Serving
