Jean-Jacques Confuron’s 2020 Aux Boudots is a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru made from Pinot Noir, offering a poised balance of red and dark fruit, spice and fine structure. Aux Boudots is among the appellation’s Premier Cru vineyards, and its position in the northern part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, close to Vosne-Romanée, gives this bottling a particularly appealing point of comparison between the two villages.

Tasting Notes
The nose brings together red and dark berries with warming spice and a subtle hint of orange peel. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with fine tannins, lively fruit and an inviting texture; the finish is persistent and well defined. Allen Meadows awarded the wine 92 points, while Jasper Morris gave a tank sample a provisional 92–95 points, noting its rich fruit, fine tannins and juiciness. No specific drinking window is provided. Its structure and persistent finish suggest it can develop with some bottle age, though it should also appeal to those who enjoy youthful Burgundy.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C, allowing the wine to show its aromatic detail without becoming too warm. It should pair well with roast duck, lamb, mushroom dishes or softly flavoured game. A brief decant can help open the wine if tasting it young; older bottles are better handled gently and may need only a little time in the glass.
