Description

Domaine de la Roche Aiguë’s “Les Cras” is a structured, elegant Pinot Noir from the estate’s own parcel in the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Cras near Beaune. Dark-fruited and finely spiced, it balances generous Burgundian character with the freshness and precision associated with the region.

Tasting Notes
The nose combines blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry and redcurrant with hints of forest floor, spice and subtle oak. On the palate, ripe fruit is framed by fresh acidity and firm, well-shaped tannins, leading to a long, nuanced finish. Enjoy it young after aeration, or give it time in the cellar to soften the tannins and develop more complex notes of truffle, leather and woodland.

Production
Made from 100% Pinot Noir grown in the domaine’s own parcel in Les Cras Premier Cru near Beaune, the wine is aged in oak barrels. Details on vineyard soils, harvesting methods and vinification are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at 15–16°C, ideally after decanting for about an hour when young. Its structure and savoury notes make it a natural match for beef tenderloin, veal, duck, braised lamb, game and mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with mature cheeses such as Époisses and Munster.
