Production
The grapes originate from the renowned Oppenheimer Sackträger vineyards in Rheinhessen, a site celebrated for high-quality Riesling. Trockenbeerenauslese is made only from individually selected, naturally shrivelled grapes with exceptional sugar and flavour concentration, often influenced by noble rot. The 1947 vintage was marked by warm conditions that helped produce richly ripe fruit, making it particularly suited to this style of wine.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, with foie gras, blue cheese, fruit-based desserts or a delicate almond tart. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative dessert wine. Because of its age, decanting is best approached cautiously: stand the bottle upright before opening, pour slowly to separate any sediment, and taste the wine before deciding whether gentle aeration is beneficial.
