Description

Galtzada Bideona 2022 is a single-vineyard Garnacha from a remarkable 0.47-hectare plot in Lanciego, Rioja Alavesa, earning 94 points from *Wine Enthusiast*. Planted in 1952, its old vines offer a distinctive expression of Garnacha in a region better known for Tempranillo.

Tasting Notes
Elegant and finely textured, with aromas and flavours of raspberry, wild strawberry and cherry, layered with dried herbs and floral notes. A taut mineral edge brings freshness and precision, while the silky palate reflects a more delicate, terroir-led style of Rioja Garnacha rather than a forceful one. Specific ageing potential is not provided.

Production
The old-vine plot sits at almost 600 metres, where Atlantic and Mediterranean influences contribute freshness and mineral character. The wine is aged in used Austrian oak barrels, a choice intended to preserve the vineyard’s identity. Harvesting and vinification details are not provided.
