Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino 2018 brings the celebrated producer’s perspective to one of Tuscany’s most prestigious appellations. Made under Brunello di Montalcino’s Sangiovese-based tradition, it also reflects Gaja’s expansion beyond Piedmont, following the family’s acquisition of the Pieve Santa Restituta estate in 1994.

Tasting Notes
Brunello typically offers a deep ruby hue that develops garnet tones with age, with aromas and flavours centred on red cherry, dried herbs and spice. The style is generally structured, with firm tannins and lively acidity; the 2018 should be approached as a wine with ageing potential, though its exact tasting profile and ideal drinking window depend on the bottle’s condition and storage.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. It should suit roast lamb, grilled or braised beef, game and aged hard cheeses. Decant for about an hour before serving to help the wine open, particularly if drinking it young.

Founded in Piedmont, Gaja is one of Italy’s best-known wine producers, with a reputation built largely on its work in Barbaresco. The family entered Montalcino in 1994 with the purchase of Pieve Santa Restituta, bringing its name to the region’s Brunello tradition.
