Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows impressive color density and a polished, deeply layered profile. The nose opens with blackcurrant, blueberry, and dark cherry, wrapped in savory oak spice and subtle toasted notes from barrel aging. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit at the core and a lively acidity that keeps everything fresh and focused. As it opens, cooler-climate Sonoma character becomes more apparent, adding nuance, length, and complexity. This is a wine with the structure and balance to age gracefully for years.

Production
Archimedes 2016 is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from the winery’s own vineyards in Alexander Valley, while the Cabernet Franc is sourced from Knights Valley, adding aromatic lift and depth. The finest barrels from each parcel are selected for the final blend, which is then matured for nearly two years in French oak to build texture, spice, and refinement.

Food & Serving
Best served with hearty dishes such as grilled ribeye, slow-braised short ribs, lamb, or rich mushroom-based plates. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for one to two hours to let the wine fully open and show its layered fruit and oak complexity.
