Fontanafredda’s Roero Arneis Pradalupo 2024 is a fresh, elegant white wine that captures the character of Piedmont’s Roero hills in a bright, modern style. Made from Arneis, one of the region’s most distinctive native grapes, it offers a lively balance of fruit, floral notes, and crisp minerality, making it an easy choice for both everyday enjoyment and refined dining.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a pale straw color with green reflections, reflecting its youthful freshness. The nose is expressive and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus, and subtle herbal nuances.
On the palate, it is crisp and dry, with juicy orchard fruit, lemon zest, and a clean mineral backbone that gives the wine shape and precision. The finish is refreshing and well balanced, making it especially appealing in its youth, though it is best enjoyed while its primary fruit and vibrancy are at their peak.
Production
This wine comes from the Roero area of Piedmont, a landscape of sandy, well-drained soils that are particularly well suited to Arneis and help preserve the grape’s aromatic finesse and freshness. The fruit is typically harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to retain acidity and delicate aromatics, then vinified with a focus on temperature control and gentle handling to protect the wine’s fragrant, varietal character.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, light pasta dishes, risotto, grilled vegetables, and soft cheeses, and it is also an excellent aperitif wine. Decanting is not necessary.
Producer
Fontanafredda is one of Piedmont’s most respected and historic producers, with deep roots in the Langhe and a longstanding reputation for quality and regional authenticity. The estate has played an important role in showcasing the wines of Piedmont, both in Italy and internationally, and is widely recognized for its commitment to native grapes, classic craftsmanship, and sustainable vineyard practices.
