Duckhorn Vineyards’ 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon brings together concentrated dark fruit, polished tannins and the structure to develop in the cellar. Made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it comes in an original wooden case of six bottles—well suited to gifting or collecting.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with blackcurrant, blueberry and ripe plum, layered with cocoa, dark chocolate and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and richly fruited, with silky tannins and a long finish that brings dark berries and understated oak into focus. Enjoyable now, it should also develop over the next five to ten years with suitable cellaring.

Production
The wine is sourced from Napa Valley vineyards, though specific vineyard sites and harvesting methods are not provided. It is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, half of them new, adding structure and complexity while allowing the fruit to remain prominent. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with small portions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc for added softness and finesse.

Serve with grilled or roasted beef, lamb or game, whose savoury richness complements the wine’s concentrated fruit and firm structure. Serve at around 16–18°C; consider decanting for about an hour to let the aromas open, particularly if enjoying it young.
