Tasting Notes
The wines display a deep, luminous golden colour, reflecting their concentration and maturity. Their layered aromas suggest ripe orchard and stone fruit, honey, spice and the rich, nuanced character associated with highly concentrated Riesling from the Mosel. On the palate, generous sweetness is balanced by vibrant acidity, creating freshness and precision rather than heaviness. The finish is long, intense and evolving, with each vintage offering its own expression of maturity. As a Trockenbeerenauslese from one of the Mosel’s most renowned vineyards, these wines have outstanding ageing potential and can continue to develop for many years when stored correctly.

Production
The grapes originate from the steep, south-facing slopes of the Berncasteler Doctor, one of the Mosel’s most famous and historic vineyard sites. Trockenbeerenauslese is produced only under exceptional conditions, from individually selected, highly concentrated grapes harvested late in the season. The result is a rare, naturally sweet wine of remarkable density, balanced by Riesling’s characteristic acidity. This Goldkapsel Versteigerung release was offered in limited quantities, with each bottle individually numbered.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, allowing the wines a little time in the glass to reveal their full complexity. Their sweetness and acidity make them superb with foie gras, blue cheese, fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée and tarte tatin, while their concentration also makes them rewarding to savour on their own. Decanting is generally not necessary, although carefully standing the bottles upright before opening and pouring gently can help preserve their clarity and mature character.
