Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep, luminous golden colour, remarkable for its age. Its bouquet is rich and layered, revealing dried apricot, raisin, honey, caramelised citrus and warm spices, with mature notes that reflect its long evolution in bottle. On the palate, it is exceptionally concentrated yet beautifully balanced by refreshing acidity. Notes of candied fruit, dried peach, honey and spice unfold gradually, supported by a subtle mineral character. The finish is exceptionally long, combining sweetness, freshness and a gentle savoury complexity. At almost 100 years old, this is a fully mature wine best enjoyed for its remarkable character, although well-stored examples may continue to develop in the bottle.

Production
Forster Kirchenstück is one of the Pfalz’s most distinguished vineyard sites, known for producing Rieslings with both concentration and pronounced mineral definition. As a Trockenbeerenauslese, the wine is made from individually selected, naturally shrivelled grapes, typically affected by noble rot, which concentrates their sugars, aromas and flavour. The grapes are harvested with exceptional selectivity and fermented before extensive maturation in bottle, allowing the wine’s sweetness, acidity and complex tertiary aromas to integrate over time.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 10–12°C to allow the wine’s mature aromas and complexity to emerge. It is a magnificent match for foie gras, blue cheese, pâté and richly flavoured desserts featuring dried fruit, caramel or crème brûlée. Decanting is not essential, but careful decanting may help separate any mature sediment; alternatively, the bottle can be stood upright before serving and poured gently.
