Domaine Ponsot’s Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes 2023 is a concentrated Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Grand Cru vineyard of Clos de la Roche. Its layered fruit, fine tannins and firm structure set it apart as a wine to cellar rather than rush to open.
Tasting Notes
The nose and palate are described in terms of waves of raspberry and darker berry fruit. Concentrated and layered, the wine retains freshness, with fine tannins and a long finish. Its close-knit structure suggests patience will reward the drinker; Jasper Morris gives a suggested drinking window of 2035–2045. No specific appearance notes are available.
Food & Serving
Try it with roast duck, game birds, mushroom dishes or simply prepared lamb, choosing preparations that complement rather than overwhelm the wine. Serve at around 16–18°C.
