Tasting Notes
Bright and refined in appearance, this Chardonnay opens with abundant, lively aromas of ripe orchard and tropical fruit, gradually revealing more nuanced mineral tones as it develops in the glass. The palate is full-bodied and energetic, with rich exotic fruit supported by refreshing acidity and an increasingly pronounced mineral backbone. Its seamless balance gives the wine both immediate appeal and considerable cellaring potential; it should continue to gain complexity with further bottle age.

Production
The Folatières climat is situated on the slopes above Puligny-Montrachet, where limestone-rich soils and excellent exposure help produce wines that unite richness with precision. Domaine Leflaive is renowned for its biodynamic approach to viticulture and meticulous attention to vineyard health. According to Antonio Galloni’s 2012 tasting note, this was the first wine in the domaine’s range to complete its malolactic fermentation, helping shape its generous texture while preserving the acidity needed for long-term development.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 11–13°C, allowing the wine time to open in a large Burgundy glass. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled or poached lobster, scallops, turbot, creamy fish dishes and delicately prepared poultry. Decanting is not essential, but a careful decant or 30–60 minutes in the glass can help reveal its layered fruit and mineral character.
