Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2022 Chambertin Clos de Bèze shows a deep, luminous ruby hue with youthful purple highlights along the rim. The nose is initially reserved but highly refined, gradually releasing layers of wild raspberry, woodland strawberry and red cherry, intertwined with notes of sous-bois, crushed stone, and delicate spice. Subtle hints of rose petal, dried herbs and a touch of graphite speak clearly of its grand cru origins. On the palate, the wine is poised and beautifully proportioned, with a fine, silky tannin structure that feels both precise and persistent. Fresh red fruits are joined by darker berry tones and a savory mineral core, framed by vibrant acidity that keeps everything lifted and focused. Production
Chambertin Clos de Bèze is one of Burgundy’s most revered grand cru sites, set on well-drained slopes with a mix of limestone, marl and clay that naturally limits yields and instills both finesse and mineral drive in the wines. In 2022, carefully selected Pinot Noir was harvested by hand at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Domaine Drouhin-Laroze incorporated around 25% whole clusters, bringing extra complexity, floral lift and fine-grained tannins. Fermentation took place with gentle extraction to respect the delicacy of the fruit, followed by aging in French oak barrels (a portion new), allowing the wine to gain structure and nuance without overpowering its terroir-driven expression.

Food & Serving
This grand cru red Burgundy pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted duck breast, veal tenderloin, squab, lamb loin or feathered game, as well as earthy preparations featuring morel mushrooms, truffles, or root vegetables. It also works wonderfully with mildly aged cheeses like Comté, Beaufort or Tomme. Serve at 15–17°C (59–63°F) to highlight its aromatics and precision. Decanting for 1–2 hours in its youth will help the wine open up and reveal more of its complexity; as it matures, a shorter decant or careful service directly from the bottle is recommended.
