Domaine de Montille’s 2023 Bourgogne Blanc “Le Clos du Château” is an elegant, finely balanced Chardonnay, awarded 90 points by Jasper Morris MW. Its walled vineyard sits beside Château de Puligny-Montrachet, close to the celebrated village’s vineyards, giving this Bourgogne AOC an especially appealing sense of place.

Tasting Notes
Bright and fresh, the wine opens with aromas of white stone fruit, apple and fresh plum. The palate brings ripe Chardonnay fruit together with lively freshness and mineral notes, finishing with precision and pleasing length. Enjoy from 2027 to 2030. Its balance of fruit and freshness makes it well suited to drinking over this window.

Production
Le Clos du Château is a contiguous, walled 4.90-hectare vineyard on deep silt-and-clay soils, which lend generosity to the wine. The Chardonnay is fermented in 228- and 600-litre barrels, then finishes its maturation in stainless steel to preserve freshness and vibrancy. Harvesting details are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at 10–12°C with fish, shellfish, poultry or other light meats. A brief airing in the glass should be sufficient; decanting is optional.
