Why shop with us?
Domaine de Bel Air Pouilly-Fumé 2025 is a fresh, elegant expression of 100% Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire Valley’s best-known appellations. Blending fruit from several family parcels, it brings together Pouilly-Fumé’s aromatic lift and distinctive mineral character; the 2025 vintage received one star in the Guide Hachette des Vins 2027.
Tasting Notes
Pale and bright in the glass, the wine offers fresh aromas of citrus, green apple and other crisp fruit, underlined by a subtle mineral note. Its dry, lively palate balances juicy fruit with precise acidity and an elegant structure that gives it more breadth than its youthful style might suggest.
The finish is clean and persistent, with fruit and minerality in harmony. Its fresh, tank-aged style is best enjoyed while the Sauvignon Blanc character is vivid; no specific longer-term ageing potential is provided.
Production
The grapes come from several family parcels around Pouilly-sur-Loire and Saint-Andelain, where varied soils include clay-rich limestone, stony limestone and flint. The blend is intended to express the broader character of the appellation rather than a single site. Harvesting details are not specified; the wine is matured in tank to preserve the purity of the fruit and avoid dominant oak influence.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish or goat’s cheese; it also suits fresh salads and light vegetable dishes. Decanting is generally unnecessary for this youthful, fresh style—open shortly before serving and let it breathe in the glass.
Producer
Domaine de Bel Air is a family estate in Pouilly-sur-Loire, where the Mauroy family’s winemaking roots date back to 1635. Katia and Cédric Mauroy continue that tradition, working with about 15 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc across Pouilly-sur-Loire and Saint-Andelain, alongside a smaller planting of Chasselas. The estate follows a sustainable approach to vineyard work and holds France’s HVE environmental certification.
