Why shop with us?
Presented in a gift box, Dom Pérignon 2013 is a vintage-only Champagne that captures the character of a challenging growing season with poise and precision. Released after at least eight years of cellar ageing, it balances the ripe fullness of the summer with the bright acidity of a late harvest.
Tasting Notes
The nose unfolds in layers, beginning with white flowers, mint and green herbs, then opening to mirabelle plum, apricot and orange blossom. Rounds of pepper, cardamom and liquorice add warmth, while smoky, toasted notes and a saline hint bring depth.
On the palate, the Champagne is elegant and precise, with generous fruit, lively acidity and a fine, silky texture that gains presence as it develops. Citrus leads into riper fruit and spice, before a long, savoury finish. Enjoy now or cellar carefully to allow further development.
Production
The 2013 growing season began with a cold, wet winter and a rainy spring, followed by a hot, dry summer and further rain in September. Chalk-rich soils helped buffer changes in water supply, while the estate’s Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards were spared the worst effects. Harvest took place from 28 September to 15 October. Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs brings elegance, while Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims contributes structure and gentle roundness. Dom Pérignon makes only vintage Champagne, and the 2013 was matured in the cellars for at least eight years before release.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 10–12°C, with oysters, scallops, lobster or delicate white fish; its savoury finish also works beautifully with roast poultry and dishes featuring herbs or mild spices. Decanting is not usually necessary—pour gently into a tulip-shaped Champagne glass and allow the wine to open in the glass.
Producer
Dom Pérignon is the prestige vintage Champagne of Moët & Chandon, one of Champagne’s best-known houses. Made only in years judged suitable for a vintage, each release is shaped to express the character of its harvest while maintaining the house’s distinctive balance and elegance. Its long cellar ageing before release is central to the cuvée’s refined, layered style.
