Diamond Creek helped pioneer bottling Cabernet Sauvignon from individual vineyards, showcasing the distinct character of each site; Red Rock Terrace is named for its distinctive, iron-rich red soils.
Tasting Notes
Deep and concentrated, this Cabernet opens with blackcurrant, cassis, blackberry and dark cherry, followed by notes of cedar, graphite, spice, tobacco, herbs and mineral nuance. Mature bottle-aged complexity now complements the dark fruit, while freshness and structured tannins keep the wine poised and balanced.
Enjoyable now after more than a decade of bottle age, it also has the structure to develop further over many years.
Production
Red Rock Terrace is one of Diamond Creek’s renowned single vineyards on Diamond Mountain. Its distinctive red, iron-rich soils are associated with the site’s individual character. Further details about the 2014 harvest and vinification are not provided.
