Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow 2014 is a rare single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Napa Valley’s historic producers, rated 97+ points by Wine Advocate. Diamond Creek helped establish the practice of bottling Napa Cabernet by individual vineyard, bringing each site’s character to the fore; Gravelly Meadow is its smallest and typically most refined vineyard.

Tasting Notes
The 2014 combines lively blackcurrant, cassis, dark cherry and blackberry with more mature layers of cedar, graphite, tobacco, spice and dried herbs. After more than a decade in bottle, its fruit remains vibrant while the tannins have become more integrated and the savoury, developed notes are increasingly apparent. Enjoy it now or cellar it further: the wine’s structure and freshness offer potential through approximately 2044.

Production
Gravelly Meadow lies on an ancient riverbed of gravel and stones in the Diamond Mountain District. Its relatively cool microclimate is associated with the elegant, refined style that distinguishes this small single vineyard. Specific harvesting and winemaking details for the 2014 vintage are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C and decant for one to two hours. It pairs particularly well with côte de bœuf, beef tenderloin, lamb, game, braised beef and mature firm cheeses.
