Description

Clos l’Eglise 2020 is a compelling Pomerol that brings together concentrated fruit, refined structure and a notably silky texture. Made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it is offered here in a three-bottle original wooden case—a striking choice for the cellar or a special occasion.

Tasting Notes
The nose is deep and expressive, with crushed black cherry, cassis and blackcurrant alongside warm nuts, chocolate, graphite, liquorice and crushed-stone notes. Wild flowers and rose add a graceful floral lift. On the palate, ripe dark fruit is framed by exceptionally fine tannins and a firm yet airy structure; hints of bitter chocolate, toast and spice lead to a long, vibrant finish with a saline, mineral character. Its balance of richness and freshness suggests strong potential for further development in the cellar.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. It should pair beautifully with roast lamb, beef, duck or mushroom dishes, as well as mature hard cheeses. Decant for about an hour before serving to allow the wine’s layered aromas to open; younger bottles may benefit from a little more air.
