Description

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 2022 is a concentrated, polished Pauillac that balances the richness of the vintage with a composed, classically Bordeaux character. Made from 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, it comes from an estate recognised as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.

Tasting Notes
Deep and youthful in colour, it opens with sweet dark berries and cherry, followed by notes of cigar box, pencil shavings and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied, layered and dense yet lively, with impressive concentration, integrated sweetness and firm, polished tannins leading into a long, focused finish. Its structure and depth suggest good potential for extended cellaring. With time, the tannins should soften and the wine’s layered aromas develop further.

Production
The wine is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, and was bottled in June. Pichon-Longueville Baron is based in Pauillac, where gravel-rich soils are characteristic of the appellation and well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon.
