Description

Château Margaux 2018 is a powerful yet polished expression of one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated First Growths. Its ripe dark fruit and depth are balanced by the estate’s hallmark floral elegance, making this a compelling wine for both the cellar and the table.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and violet, followed by notes of graphite, cedar, dark chocolate and spice. The palate is concentrated and structured, with ripe fruit, refined tannins and a long, composed finish.

Production
From the Margaux appellation on Bordeaux’s gravel-rich Left Bank, the wine reflects a terroir well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and other classic Bordeaux varieties. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with care, with the lots selected and blended to express the vintage and the château’s characteristic balance. Its structure and concentration give it considerable ageing potential; it is likely to develop further complexity with extended cellaring.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. Decant for two to three hours while young to let the aromas unfold. It pairs especially well with roast lamb, beef, venison and other richly flavoured dishes, as well as mature hard cheeses.
