Description

Château Léoville Poyferré 2010 is a concentrated yet polished Saint-Julien from a renowned Second Growth estate, combining the structure of the celebrated vintage with the château’s hallmark silky texture. A blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, it earned exceptional reviews, including 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 98+ from Robert Parker.

Tasting Notes
Deep in colour, the wine opens with an intense, complex bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry, followed by classic notes of cedar, graphite, spice and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with generous dark fruit, ripe tannins and a long, precise finish. It is entering an appealing drinking window, while its depth and structure give it the potential to age for many more years.

Production
The wine is made from 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. It comes from the 2010 vintage in Saint-Julien and is classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification. Specific vineyard and winemaking details were not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C, with decanting recommended. It pairs naturally with beef, lamb, game and mature hard cheeses; decanting can help the wine open and reveal its layered aromas.
