Description

Château Léoville Las Cases 2016 is a precise, deeply structured Saint-Julien from one of Bordeaux’s most respected estates. Classified as a Second Growth in 1855, the château is often regarded as producing wines of exceptional stature beyond its official ranking.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep, youthful ruby colour. Its aromas centre on blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar and graphite, developing with aeration to reveal spice, tobacco and subtle floral notes. On the palate, concentrated dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins, leading to a long, complex finish with classic Médoc character. Built for cellaring, the 2016 has significant aging potential. With time, its structure and layers of flavour should continue to evolve; it can also be enjoyed now with generous aeration.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C. It pairs naturally with roast lamb, beef, venison and other richly flavoured dishes, as well as hard, mature cheeses. If drinking now, decant for around two hours to allow the wine to open; older bottles may need only careful decanting to separate any sediment.
