Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Extra Brut Champagne N.V.

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Extra Brut is a refined Blanc de Blancs that shows the purity and elegance of Chardonnay from the Premier Cru vineyards around Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. Formerly known as “Tradition,” this cuvée was renamed by Pierre Larmandier to better reflect its origin and the rounder, more generous style shaped by the vineyards’ southern exposure.

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse, Latitude offers a bright and expressive bouquet of ripe citrus, white flowers, and subtle pastry notes. With time in the glass, it reveals more depth, bringing out hints of brioche, stone fruit, and a distinctly mineral edge. On the palate, it is elegant yet textural, combining freshness with a gentle sense of richness. The low dosage keeps the finish crisp and precise, while the Chardonnay’s natural ripeness gives the wine a rounded, fruit-driven profile. It has excellent balance and should age gracefully over the next several years, developing additional complexity and nuttier notes.

Production
Latitude is made exclusively from Chardonnay grown on Premier Cru sites around Vertus in the southern part of the Côte des Blancs, where the slightly warmer latitude lends the wine its fuller, more open character. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with a focus on preserving terroir expression, using natural fermentation and extended maturation on the lees to build texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a versatile partner for refined dishes such as oysters, scallops, sushi, sashimi, grilled white fish, or poultry with cream-based sauces. It also works beautifully with light cheeses and delicate canapés. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended.
