Description

Created by Charlie Wagner, Conundrum Red brings together grapes from across California in a generous, characterful blend. Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah combine for ripe dark-fruit flavour, rounded tannins and a supple texture.

Tasting Notes
Deep and dark in colour, it opens with aromas of black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with dark chocolate, vanilla and a hint of smoke. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with juicy dark fruit, smooth, rounded tannins and a long finish of chocolate, spice and ripe berries.

Food & Serving
Enjoy it with grilled steak, barbecue or other richly flavoured grilled dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C; a brief 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help open up the aromas, though it is approachable without decanting.

Caymus Vineyards is a family winery founded by the Wagner family in Napa Valley. Charlie Wagner’s Conundrum project reflects a more exploratory approach to California winemaking, bringing together grapes from different regions to create a distinctive, fruit-forward blend.
