On the palate, it is structured, balanced and full-bodied, with flavours of strawberry and blackcurrant alongside black pepper, spice and a subtle rhubarb character. Silky, well-integrated tannins lead into a long, satisfying finish. With further bottle age, the wine can develop more savoury, animal and tertiary aromas.

Produced by Carranco on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, this Etna Rosso DOC is made from Nerello Mascalese, a grape particularly well suited to the region’s volcanic terroir.
