Bideona’s 2021 Pueblos Villabuena is a village-focused Rioja Alavesa Tempranillo, shaped by old vineyard parcels around Villabuena de Álava and the character of their calcareous soils. Rather than leaning on traditional Rioja categories or oak-led styling, it puts the village’s identity, polished structure and mineral freshness first; Vinous critic Joaquín Hidalgo awarded it 95 points.
Tasting Notes
The nose opens with cherry and red plum, joined by raspberry, violet and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, ripe fruit is balanced by lively freshness and silky tannins, with good depth and a long, composed finish.
