Belle Glos 25th Anniversary Pinot Noir brings together fruit from three of the producer’s signature California vineyards for a polished, expressive celebration of the house style. Founded by fifth-generation winemaker Joseph Wagner, Belle Glos is known for its richly textured coastal Pinot Noir; this anniversary blend unites fruit from Monterey, Santa Barbara and Sonoma in a bottle sealed with the winery’s distinctive red wax.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry and wild strawberry, layered with cocoa, dried rose petals and baking spices. The palate is rich and polished, balancing concentrated red and dark berry fruit with lively acidity and refined tannins, followed by a long, measured finish.
Its structure and freshness should allow it to develop over the next few years, while its generous fruit makes it enjoyable now. No specific drinking window is provided.
Production
The blend draws on three coastal California sites: Las Alturas in the Santa Lucia Highlands contributes power, Clark & Telephone in the Santa Maria Valley lends structure, and Dairyman in the Russian River Valley brings vibrant fruit. In the mild, temperate 2025 growing season, ocean influence and morning fog helped extend ripening while preserving natural acidity. The grapes were hand-harvested early in the morning, destemmed without crushing and cold-macerated, then fermented in open and closed stainless-steel tanks with punch-downs and pump-overs. After full malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for up to 12 months in French oak, 60% new.
Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool, around 15–16°C. It pairs well with duck, veal, grilled pork, mushroom and truffle dishes, aged cheeses, grilled salmon or tuna, and autumn meals featuring root vegetables. A short decant of around 20–30 minutes can help open the aromas; serve younger bottles without extended aeration.
Producer
Belle Glos was founded in 2001 by Joseph Wagner, a fifth-generation member of the family behind Caymus Vineyards, and takes its name from his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner. The winery has built its identity around expressive Pinot Noir from California’s coastal growing regions. This anniversary bottling brings together three of its established vineyard sources in a single blend.
