Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, inviting character with a fragrant nose of jasmine, orange blossom, and lychee, lifted by subtle notes of basil and rosemary. On the palate, it is full yet refreshing, with a dry, well-defined shape and a long finish marked by a fine ginger-like spice. Its aromatic complexity makes it immediately appealing, while the precise structure and freshness suggest good short- to medium-term aging potential, during which its floral and herbal nuances can continue to unfold.

Production
This wine comes from the Marsala zone in Sicily, where Barraco farms Zibibbo vines trained according to the Guyot system on dark clay-limestone soils. The vineyard’s mineral-rich terroir contributes depth, juiciness, and a firm sense of freshness, while the early-September harvest helps preserve acidity and delicate aromatic detail. In the cellar, the grapes undergo 24 hours of skin maceration to extract fragrance and texture before fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then matures in cement tanks until spring, a gentle élevage that preserves purity and builds harmony without masking the varietal character.

Food & Serving
Barraco Zibibbo 2024 pairs beautifully with Sicilian dishes, pumpkin tortelli, and aromatic cuisine where herbs and spice play a central role. It is also an excellent match for Asian-inspired dishes, seafood, and lightly spiced vegetable plates. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary.
