An exceptionally rare 1915 Riesling Beerenauslese from Hattenheim’s Deutelsberg in the Rheingau, produced by Anheuser & Fehrs. Tasting Notes
The wine is described as showing a deep golden colour, with an intense bouquet of mature stone fruit, honey and warming spice. On the palate, it is rich and sweet, supported by balancing acidity that brings freshness to flavours of apricot, peach and citrus. Notes of vanilla and caramel emerge on the long, lingering finish. After more than 100 years of bottle ageing, this is a wine to appreciate for its rarity, maturity and historical character. Production
Made from hand-selected Riesling grapes grown on the steep slopes of the Deutelsberg in Hattenheim, this Beerenauslese reflects the Rheingau’s long tradition of producing naturally sweet, age-worthy wines. The grapes were harvested in 1915, and the wine has matured in bottle ever since. Further details regarding the harvest selection, vinification and cellar conditions are not available.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its sweetness and mature fruit character should pair beautifully with desserts, fruit-based pastries, crème brûlée and mature or blue cheeses; it can also be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif. Decanting is not necessarily required, but carefully standing the bottle upright before opening and serving gently may help preserve the wine, particularly if sediment is present.
